5 Ways to Buy Happiness

It turns out money can buy happiness - when you spend it on others!

Don't believe us, Michael Norton an Associate Professor at the Harvard Business School gave a Ted talk on this subject.  If you are interested in watching his talk you can watch the video on YouTube.

In short, a study conducted at the University of British Columbia found students that were given money and spent it on others were happier than the students who spent the money on themselves.

In our modern plugged-in world it is easy to lose sight of what really matters.  Take a few moments to step back and appreciate the little things.

5 ways to buy happiness:

  1. Take your co-workers out for a drink. Teams that spend more time together perform better.
  2. Be spontaneous.  Buy a little something for a person you haven't seen in a while.  Let them know you're thinking of them.
  3. Make someone's day.  Grab a coffee for the person you are waiting in line with at the coffee shop.
  4. Going out to dinner? Pick up the tab.
  5. Grab a Future Friar Hoodie
